2017 it's been a busy year for me, I've tried to read some novels and some books that are on my bookshelves since forever but I felt like I had no time to dedicate to a whole novel and plus none was catching my interest.
Than I discovered poems.
I've always loved lyrics and I used to love studying poems and poets when I was in school but never thought to read a poem book, until those came to my life.
The first one I read I won't say is a poem book, it is more short letters but some of them are so well written that may as well be considered as poems.
I'm talking about "This modern love" by Will Darbyshire.
It is a collection of love letter written by different people from around the world. The YouTuber asked on various platform different question about love and millions of people started to send emails or actual letters, he collected them all and made it into a lovely book.
The book is divided in three section: Beginning, Middle, Ending (of a relationship). The letters are either signed or anonymous, some of them are sad other sweet other just hilarious.
They're very personal but at the same time everyone can relate to it. It was a joy to read for me.

Milk & Honey by Rupi Kaur
I read this during my vacation in Marrakesh so it reminds me of good time and relax.
Is a poem book very contemporary and understandable.
Kaur writes poems and prose about nowadays problems reflecting more on themes like womanhood, femininity, violence,love,loss... It is divided into different parts: The hurting,The loving, The breaking and the healing and it shows different kind of pain.
It can sometimes be harsh but in general is a very interesting book to read. It is a bittersweet book that makes you reflect in different aspect of your life she makes feel the reader like he/she is part of a journey.
I wanted to write some of my favourite poems down here to show you what I am talking about but I would end up writing the whole book. Just read it. Now.

"The princess saves herself in this one " by Amanda Lovelance is the latest one I read and I found it a inspiring book and it is pretty self explanatory from the title.
It is divided in four parts: The princess, The damsel, The queen and You. It is based on womanhood and independence; explores themes like pain, grief, love and loss.(as usual, think I'm into this kind of themes, lols) While reading this book I literally felt like I could be able to do everything. It shows how a "princess" doesn't have to wait for a price to save her from the dragon.
